Horrible experience with installers. Misaligned screws and bolts. **************** is terrible. Nearly impossible to communicate. I do NOT recommend American Steel.Took months to resolve. The Company would not accepted responsibility for the damage done by installers to my existing carport. Installers walked on roof with damage. The new carport .. Installers walked on the roof panels while on the ground. Holes in roof and at leaks. Simply a horrible experience.
-Make sure to ask for upgrade 26-gauge sheet metal panels if living in snowy area -Make sure to ask for cement size if new cement as cement needs to be bigger than building itself (I had to get smaller building because I had wrong cement size as they never told me what size cement, I need the cement needs to be 6" bigger to do J-Anchor bolts)-Make sure to ask for cement plans attached with generic drawings -Recommended 12-gauge framing if in snowy or windy area -If doing an overhead garage door with windows, make sure you ha... read more
This business is the pits. I ordered my building on 5/10/2021. The sales rep added the prices of the features I wanted incorrectly - twice, but I didn't double check myself so, my bad, but the company never even caught the error for 5 months. In mid August I called to inform them the site prep was complete and was told it would be 3 or 4 weeks and I'd get a call 1 week before they arrived to install my building. Guess what - no call. This company is terrible. I ordered a carport and paid my 10% deposit and a month later I was informed that the price went up $1,400.00. They were still comparable in price to similar companies so I decided to order it anyway.I received a voice mail from the company asking me to call them so they can make sure my site was prepared and to make an appointment. Thursday, July 29, 2021 I should have been suspicious when the production period dragged on and on. Finally, my seller contacted the company and they explained that they were not ever informed that my lot was ready for installation. However, I was in his office the day that he called them and notified them that my lot was ready. A month later, I received a call on Tuesday saying that they installation crew would be at my location on Thursday. I had commitments on Thursday and Friday, so the crew came on Saturday. I ordered my carport in April it finally got delivered in July at 10:00 at night 13 hrs later than the delivery time it was missing the metal for the sides which I ordered and was able to show the receipt on my phone after talking to the boss I offered to pay for half and the other half when the side metal arrived they refused and loaded everything back on the trailer now customer service isnt doing anything to help me time for an attorney I guess. I have been carrying this product at my dealership for 6+ years. I had an employee that came in and did well selling this product and they stole her from me and she stole my leads. Very unethical company as well as ***'s *************** in Decatur. The thief's name is *** *********. Do not do business with these people. If they will do this to the hand that feeds them, they will do this to you."
Absolute worst business I’ve ever seen run. Customer service is terrible and won’t listen to a customer. They will tell you they’ll be there a certain date and time and never show up. Not to mention there was over 10 beer cans in my trash can from guys supposed to be putting a building up. Prepare to be lied to and never be right in there eyes
I ordered a replacement door for a building they put up. Wrong size door. Told them and they won't give me my money back. they charge me delivery fee and a return fee for the wrong door they also backed up and broke my fence
