I should've followed my gut instinct during my visit and written this review right after. So, a few months ago, I went to The Smilist in Arlington, VA as a new patient. Waiting room was fine. I get back into the chair for my appointment and the dental assistant starts working on getting X rays of my mouth. These hard, uncomfortable blocks (that I'm very used to after 30 years of dental x rays) are sitting between my teeth to bite down on - which anyone who has had dental X-rays I'm sure can relate to. The oral hygienist REPE... read more

I don't know how to tell some people. Be very, very careful of who you're dealing with. Im paying for a (permanent) twice. That's not so permanent. The dentist and/or their lab takes no responsibility or accountability for work. I made my appointments and went to them twice a year. The tooth detached.....1 piece fell off and 1 piece was stuck in my mouth...what is permanent about that....and having to pay for it twice.........called me to confirm appointment and asked for more money.....not doing it.....the worst in my 49 y... read more

They are in the business of collecting $50.00 every time you cancel or reschedule an appointment that they push on you without even being certain to commit for that timeframe. The office manager named Flor, she's a condescending, useless associate.

Business response:

Hi Jake, We reserve these appointments for our patients and if our patients cx less than 24 hours, it doesn’t give us a chance to fill the opening w patients who need to come in. Sorry for your experience.

I have been waiting 2 months after treatment, to give a fair and true view. Following these great views on google, I came to this dental clinic. Booked basic teeth cleaning. Treatment one: 1. The whole session took 25 Minutes: X-ray, pull out 2 tartars, stuck needles into gums (measured something), flossed my teeth, Done!!! (Include 5 minutes waiting doctor) The ONLY real cleaning procedure was twice scratching on my teeth for pulling out 2 tartars! She didn't clean my crowns at all. She didn't even touch most of... read more

Poor Customer Service- front desk (Yeni) Unprofessional Received numerous calls and voice messages to confirm an appointment, and inform me of canceled dental insurance Mind you, the appt had been previously confirmed, along with updated insurance info. My overall feeling, Arlington Dental is more interested in fees, than my overall dental care.

Business response:

We are disappointed that we did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments and will look further into your concerns. Should you want to discuss further details, please call us.

Although the office and assistants staff were very nice, I would definitely not recommend Dr. Gottlieb as a PEDIATRIC DENTIST. When my nine year old daughter complained she was still feeling a lot of pain after the numbing injections (I warned him that she has very high pain medicine tolerance and typically requires more numbing than standard), he said he was "out of patience" to deal with her and recommended we see a "specially trained" pediatric dentist. If you don't feel like you had appropriate training to treat children... read more

I went in for a routine teeth cleaning and was told I needed an extra deep cleaning that I would have to pay extra for since insurance typically does not cover this. I've never heard of this from any other dentist and years of getting routine teeth cleaning. Since Dr. Wu and her hygienist saw that I didn't want to pay for this special procedure, they offered to submit the request to my insurance to see if the insurance would agree to paying for this (which was not likely and they did not ultimately agree). So they reschedule... read more

Went in for a routine checkup and no cavities found. I go back for another checkup and they swap out my dentist (not telling me) and now say (from the same x rays) that I have 2 cavities. So I request a 3rd opinion and they say I have 3 cavities. I get them filled... 1. I'm not completely numb when the drilling starts. 2. The quality was poor. I've never had a filling feel like a foreign object in my mouth before. A few days later I was having pain. I return and the filling was too high. Not only that but they all felt like ... read more
