They really do a great job here! The food is good, the activities are good, and the staff are all very friendly! The facility itself is always clean and well kept, the only real complaint I have is that they could use another elevator, it can get backed up during busy times.
It's a great place, they're really friendly. From what I've seen around everywhere the cost is fine, all they do is provide meals and clean their rooms but for that part they do well. Lunch is good, its the biggest one, its's all good, it could be a little healthier but the people living there probably wouldn't want that. My mom will be moving in on August 1st so we haven't had any experience with the care services yet but they seem to be what we need. It looked like they had quite a few activities like music and going on shopping trips, movie night, games, and crafts. One thing we really like is that it has some outdoor space on the unit. I've been very impressed by the care and respect shown to my Mother. When searching for a place for her I had many reservations and fears- will she be treated kindly, will she be respected, will she be taken advantage of, will her surroundings be pleseant. At Lakeshore Estates all of my fears where relieved. This is a very nice, clean, beautifully decorated community. The first thing I looked for when I entered was a bad smell- There was NONE! one of the amenities is supposed to be a weekly cleaning of his apartment. He's been there 4 months and has only gotten 1 cleaning. Apparently they can't keep staffed. it is extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone. We're promised countless call backs that never happen and are told the person we need to speak with is never there when we call, even when we call during the times they told us previously they would be there. he has complained a lot about the food. My sister-in-law that lives there really likes it overall. Her main complaint is the food, not always good and few options for diabetics. They also don't have enough servers, so food often takes a long time to arrive and is cold. There are lots of activities for people of all physical capabilities. Transportation is only available 3 days a week, so sometimes difficult to schedule rides to and from doctor's appointments, etc. Would be better if transportation was available Monday to Friday. When I moved here, I considered it "a little corner of Heaven." Since Sagora purchased the facility, IT IS HELL (and I am not exaggerating). (1) The food is of extremely poor quality; (2) too few Staff members, and the "good" ones quit or were "let go." (3) Every time we turn around, there is a monetary increase. Lease changes when ever they want it too. We signed a lease and I move her in and everything changes. Mold growing in her room from get go and they didn't care about getting it gone. They act like wad here but several others has same issues. Cleaning rooms was done if they had enough help. Which they always short handed daily even on cooking food .Food was a issue for sure and not due to the cooks. Was due to the owner of the place. Going cheap. Same vegetables daily. They changed the administrator back in early winter. The staff was told that they were getting too close to the residents and needed to back off of interactions. Most of the original upper management has left. The chef quit and the food and food service are terrible now. Cold food is not acceptable.
