My problem was dirt that had covered up the sensor. They could easily have told me how yo fix it over the phone instead of charging me $85 for a service call.
The serviceman was in such a hurry to leave that he left a wire (live?) hanging loose in the garage. And of course, I did not notice it myself until he was gone.
