I have lived here for 1 1/2 yrs. I was going to look for a complex that offered a smaller apt with a garage. After doing a lot of searching I have decided to stay here in a smaller apt even though I will not have a garage. There are many complexes around there was only one that came close for my needs and it was smaller and I would ending up spending almost the same for a smaller apt. Before we moved to the Raleigh area a few years ago. We took a week and came down to check out Apartments. We spent 3 days looking. As we were on our way back to the airport to fly off, my wife noticed a sign on 10 10 road and it said Avalon Peaks. We turned around and drove through the complex. It had Tennis Courts ( a plus ), a Frisby Golf Course, the largest pool we have seen ( we looked at 15 plus apts ) , a work out room ( small but you can wear yourself out ) , a nice gathering room if you are having a party. I lived here for about two years. Honestly, it's probably better than a lot of the other apartment communities in the area. The staff is great and if you ever need something fixed, they'll address it very quickly. The people that tend to rent here are families (in the larger units), older folks, and some people in their 20s/30s. Noise was never an issue for me. I would not recommend for anyone to live here. The maintenance team is horrific. The first time they came into my apartment for a maintenance request, they left lights on, and did not put back into place the items they had moved to address my issues. I called the office to request that the next time maintenance came into my apartment, that they take more care to set every back to the way it was before they entered. However, the VERY NEXT DAY, they "forgot" to turn my hot water heater back on. We do not return from work ... read more
