I lived at Axis for a year and it was the worst mistake. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I have actually advised people to look elsewhere when friends have been interested in the place. I read bad reviews before I moved in and I thought they were maybe being dramatic, but now I've been pushed to the point of writing a bad review myself which I would never do unless it was truly THAT BAD. Obviously set up to milk money out of gullible students that feel like they are getting a good deal. Don't pay the costs of west campus living for this place. It's location isn't convenient enough (it's about a 30 minute walk to my classes) for the cost and you might as well pay less to live at Riverside or something and just take the bus. Online payment system does not reflect what the agents say due dates are either. It's just not worth it.
So to begin, please keep in mind that I don't live here... and probably never will thanks to this UNRESOLVED incident. I go to my friends apartment with my pup to pick up an art project that I started at her place the night before. I get there and hell no am I going to leave my 10month puppy in the car (mind you it passed 90 degrees that day) while I go up 5 floors. So my puppy is on her leash and we go up. Living at Axis is great. The maintenance guys are great, and there is a lot of cool stuff that they do while you live there. The manager is an ass but you can mostly ignore him. HOWEVER, as soon as you want to move out they are awful. They will charge you outrageous amounts for literally everything, even if you had nothing to do with what they are trying to charge you for. Everything they originally called a deposit is now a fee. They threaten to destroy your credit and give your information away if you don't pay their bogus... read more
They get you with the modern look but you're not getting your money's worth I'll guarantee. One, in the contract they have that they can search your apartment randomly which I didn't know and is not cool. I've been getting ready for school in the morning when 5 men in business suits came in to "make sure everything was going well and didn't need maintenance" which is ironic because when I submit maintenance requests it takes ages to go through.
