Dr Ayer has a great bedside manner. Her took the time to explain my problem when other surgeons really didn’t want to take the time to do so. His techniques are progressive. Rather than stay in a hospital for three days like another surgeon told me would happen, I was home the same day after a lumbar fusion.

He was very understanding of my condition. He explained everything very well so that I understood. He has done to surgeries in me. I will highly recommend him.

I found Dr Ayer through a co worker who had broken his back. I've had neck issues since my early twenties. When I went to see Dr Ayer I was suffering from numbness in my face and neck and these random electrical shock type pains that would cause me to jump. Dr Ayer was very patient with me and explained in all the detail I asked for what he saw on the scans and what the procedure would entail. He had to lock down my c4-c6, but due to a secondary issue of having bony growth in one of my ligaments we opted to go through the ba... read more

Felt very comfortable with Dr Ayer. He gave me hope that my pain can lessen or disappear.

Compassionate. Progressive - convinced he employs the latest techniques and works hard to stay current in his field. I researched that he teaches other surgeons surgery! My back was dramatically improved by his procedure.

My spouse has GBM and Dr. Ayer was/is our surgeon. We, quite frankly, adore him. Thank you Dr. Ayer for everything you’ve done. A truly professional and human doctor. So many doctors become cold and indifferent. It has meant the world to us to benefit from your expertise and humanity. Please never lose it. Merry Christmas again to you and yours.

I have had multiple visits with other neuro-surgeons in the past, and Dr. Ayer is by far the best. The best bed side manner and staff I have seen.

Came to Dr. Ayer with my 86 year old mother in law. She had degenerative disks and had many falls the last one caused compression of the disk causing severe pain. No one wanted to touch her and her pain was unbearable. He was able to do a Laminectomy and fusion which made her life better. Always available to speak with and appreciate his counsel and advice. His staff was also very caring and helpful. Would highly recommend and trust.

Had sudden onset loss of strength in dominate right arm. Met with a couple doctors from Emory to discuss my issue. It was discovered through an MRI that I had compressed C5/6 and restricted nerve. The advice was to have surgery, but something was missing so I wanted a second opinion. We reached out to Dr Ayer and he worked in an appointment in very short order. The original diagnosis was correct, however the previous doctors missed other conditions that were contributing factors to my loss of strength and probably not relate... read more
