Took in 2 stray kittens for a checkup. Repeatedly told the woman I didn’t want all the services today, since my primary vet is in ebensburg. She repeatedly told me that I needed to get the rabies shot and the flea and tick medication. So I did. I was told my total was going to be one amount in the waiting room, just to pay another amount later on. Will not be coming back

Tender care of my precious pets - always treated with concern and compassion - explain things so you understand - get you in as soon as possible - very kind and helpful staff and Vets.

They overcharged me and prolonged my cat's pain. When they finally offered a real solution to his illness, they tried overcharging me again. $800 to extract my cat's teeth, and some were already gone. They have a great con going. Check with other veterinarian before you agree with Blair Animal Hospital's recommendation.

Our experience with Blair Animal Hospital is one I would like to forget. I understand you have policies for various reasons, but when another veterinarian office calls you and explains that their vet had a family emergency and could not perform euthanasia on our dog, Wrinkles, then I would think professional courtesy would be part of your policy. As far as being sympathetic, you were not. When I told you that we already knew what was wrong with our dog and that is why we needed to euthanize Wrinkles, you simply stated tha... read more

Business response:

Pam, we are truly sorry for your loss and can understand how you are feeling. While we still feel it important to examine any pet before euthanasia, we would never want to come off as unsympathetic and we will make sure we work on this communication and delivery of care. We are sorry we didn’t meet your expectations and are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

If I could give No stars, I would. On the morning of March 3, 2017, my neighbors, Mike and Pam Ergler, and I were going to At Home Veterinary Care to put the Ergler dog, Wrinkles, down. After all testing, Wrinkles had a tumor on his pancreas. He was getting worse each day. On our way to At Home Vet Care, we received a call from Diane, the vet tech at At Home Vet, that Dr. Woodring had a family emergency in the middle of the night and was unable to do the procedure. Diane told us that she would call Blair Animal Hospital t... read more

Business response:

Shari, we are sorry for the loss of Wrinkles. We know it is a very difficult time when someone has to say goodbye to their beloved pet companion, and we always sympathize with the pet owners and those affected. However, it is hospital policy that we do not euthanize animals without having seen the pet first. This policy is in place for many reasons, but most importantly to protect the pet and we stand by it.
