Sad, the cafe used to be a hip place to go -- now, the interior lost its vibe and the food is barely passable. It was empty on a Thursday evening, and I know why.
Regrettably took a friend to a birthday dinner after a show at Lincoln Center. The restaurant was cold and drafty with air conditioning freezing us out courtesy of LC, not the restaurant, according to the waitstaff. As we were starting on our appetizers (my soup was not hot), one of the main dishes (there were 3 of us) arrived, another 5 minutes later, and the last a few minutes after that. My entree was tasty, but inconsistently heated with some mouthfuls lukewarm and other bites cold. We decided to skip dessert. Very disap... read more
The diners' talking made a din, to which they added music and a live singer. Not a place for a conversation. Caesar salad was a mound of almost white chopped lettuce -- couldn't tell if Romaine or icebg. Dressing was good. But too expensive for that. Companion's "beet" salad had a ring of beet pieces around a mound of mixed lettuce. Too few to be named such. Need a quietish and moderately priced restaurant near Lincoln Center for an efficient meal before performances. This one isn't it.
Food was awful, ingredients seemed low quality, and kitchen very slow.

The soup was fine, but the half sandwiches were so small that they were gone in a couple of bites. The order was to include a side salad, but there was none. We have had the same order in the past and it was correct ... read more
It took awhile for us to see our server. We asked for an extra plate but he never brought it. They had a fake tree that kept falling over.
I was allowed to make a reservation on OpenTable, but the restaurant was closed on Sunday
They changed the quinoa salad, now just a lump of quinoa without much else, it used to be delicious. The other menu items are meh. Ok for coffee or a drink but no to the food. Advice: this place, they are cutting back on quality
First the waiter forgot to put the chicken on our chicken Caesar salads. All that was on the plate was some chopped up romaine lettuce and a few croutons. He took our plates back to the kitchen and it was another ten minutes before he brought them back. There were three small strips of chicken. He also forgot the dressing, so once again he took the plates back to the kitchen. Another ten minutes, and he only brought dressing for one salad (there were two of us). Another wait. It took another fifteen minutes to get the check.... read more
