A Lunch Time Machine. How can you eat a lunch in the future? By ordering on your cell phone, faxing, or on the Internet. I roll my eyes every time I eat lunch here because there is a HUGE line which I cut ahead of because I order my food on my phone. I start the order when I walk out my office door - by the time I get in the elevator, in the car, and arrive at the restaurant, there is a 95% chance my food is waiting for me. And when it's not, I can get my drink and wait for it.
Anyone who has been to this location for lunch knows how long the lunch-time line is - I can't believe more people don't order online. The Chiptole online ordering system is actually one of the best I have ever seen. They keep it simple and make it convenient to order your favorite items. The line moves quick, but not as quick as ordering ahead.
As for the food - you can't beat the steak or barbacoa. Every now and then I try a competitor and think maybe they are better than Chipotle. Then I end up at Chipotle the next time. My only beef with Chipotle is some locations prepare the food deathly spicy - this location is fine however. Chipotle introduced me to the smoked chipotle hot sauce, which I never thought in 1,000 years I would try, but now I ensure I stock it in my house regularly. My wife and I also try hard to mimic making the corn salsa. I bet Chiptole could sell bottles of salsa successfully - I wonder if I can get a royalty check for thinking of that?
