Citadel gained me as a customer in 2017 when the credit union of which I was a member for 38 years started becoming like a bank and their employees had bad attitudes with poor customer service. Citadels buildings are all designed with efficient entry with the tellers right in front of you on the back wall when you enter. I love that their other staff members are in an area to the left so they all see you as you enter. The ones who aren't busy greet you as you enter. This is great customer service making you feel you are va... read more
I have been using Citadel for over 20 years. Recommended to all my family and friends. It's a great bank/FCU and always received great service. On line banking is terrific.
I have been a customer with Citadel for several years with my personal banking. It is apparent, even calling themselves a neighborhood bank, that they are anti-small business and anti-startups even when it would be a neighborhood business. They refused to open a business account and even took money from my personal account supposedly to fund the business account. When the account was denied, they are refusing to return the money they took out. Needless to say, I opened the business account elsewhere and will be moving my per... read more

Big, fat, waste of time. They are incapable of returning calls, answering calls (including a dysfunctional voice bot that holds up speaking to an individual by on average 10 to 15 minutes). Communication overall is horrific -- including speaking with a loan processor and even after my loan was approved. Who can stand this incompetence? I don't know how they stay in business. Following the comments of others, even after you finally get to speak to a human being, no matter how much security information you give them (including... read more

Our mortgage broker found us a loan with Citadel (who used another local bank to source the loan). The lender required us to pay off small balances on credit cards that would have been paid by closing anyway, requiring a ton of documentation. Our broker said a soft pull would be made a few days before closing, so we made sure all our credit cards had zero balances when the statements cut around that date. Unfortunately we had to put a couple large charges on our cards after statement close due to a family emergency. Unbeknow... read more
Don't trust your money with them and don't waste your time banking with them, they are the worst. I have been dealing with the same incorrect information on my credit for 5 months and even though they acknowledge that it's an error they refuse to contact the credit bureaus to correct it. I am in the process of reporting them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for falsifying information on my credit report.
Do not use the drive thru if you're looking to be in and out, yesterday I sat in line for almost 30 minutes. Granted, it was a Friday but they only had one teller working with three lanes open and multiple cars in each lane. Their printer wasn't working either so I didn't receive a slip with my current balance info either. I was in the area, I usually go to the Brookhaven location which is a lot better, IMO.
Don't bother using Citadel if you like online banking. Their site is SO user un-friendly. Every time I login I have to get a "secure access code" and the only time I made an online payment, the bank didn't receive it and my account went to collections. I had to provide proof that the money had been withdrawn from my other bank account of course ONLINE, which was a pain. It takes WAY too long to do anything. If you're one to call in to make payments, Citadel is fine. If you ever think at any point you'd want to do online bank... read more
Worst bank ever. While I've been a Citadel customer for several years handling business at other branches, this site is filled with totally incompetent staff. After screwing up my transaction completely and failing to accept responsibility for error, wasting more than an hour of my time and making me miss appointments, morbidly inept assistant manager didnt have the 5 cents in her head to fix it - kept saying "couldnt void someone elses' work"- ?? even when it was wrong?? Who needs a manager??! Seriously, don't walk...RUN!!
