I purchased the platinum coverage ($1500) for my new camper. After four months on the road the water pump failed, several interior pipes were leaking, and the metal bracket supporting my black/greywater outlet snapped. I found a repairman and asked him to call Compass and get approval for the repairs. Compass denied 3/4 of the claim (everything except the water pump), meaning I would be paying $650 of the $800 bill. Compass Insurance has unremarkably incompetent agents actively working for them who will immediately put you on hold and send you to someone else once they realize they've messed up. One of their agents allowed me to put my car in storage when I later found out I wasn't supposed to and I was then excessively billed as they seemingly took no sense of responsibility on the matter at all. I had them for about 8 years, they were always so kind and helpful. My policy for auto was always on auto withdrawal as monthly payments deducted from my bank. My bank account info was unfortunately stolen this fall and a fraud alert was issued. It was awful and terrifying and I had to close everything down and change bank accounts. It caused the auto withdrawal of my insurance payments to drop off, I didn’t even realize because it had been automatic for so long. We are not happy with how they answer you request for finding you a lower fee Insurance carrier to Chang e from what we have with them. I talked to a male agent and asked him to find us a new company with lower rates. It took over two weeks before I called them and a woman said she'd see who it was and call back. She did a couple days later, but said that Woverine Mutual was the cheapest and their rate went up. So we are paying a higher premium. I also don't like how they came up with giving the difference from a paid policy... read more

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Having someone drive illegally and not putting the active on the policy when they were told over the phone, email and txt that were good to go. Then on top of that.... never got a letter, email, phone call, etc to tell me to renew my policy? Instead they just cut me off. Driving around with NO insurance and health insurance who I got thru them was cancelled to without me knowing. Communication here is awful! Imcompantant, cowardly company that won't help there own client. All about them, they act like they're never at fault yet they take ur money just fine. Terrible experience from start to end.

I have 3 policies with Compass, 2 AAA and 1 Wolverine Mutual. I was quoted $799 for homeowners of a home purchase policy (AAA) thru compass on a 480sf house in GR. When I questioned the price she responded it just must be a minimum they charge! I then went to another AAA agent in GR and was quoted $390 for exact identical coverages!! Buyer beware of the agents at this insurance agency. I also reported them to Better Business Bureau
