We were at an event in town and decided to go to Cracker Barrel afterwards. On the way, I realized it was 5 pm on a Saturday and was dreading that there may be a long wait. Wait staff on one day was very forgetful on any thing we asked for and she started she has been there for 5 months. Even tho they have a fire place if and your put 4 tables away from it it will be cold. We had to keep out coats. So I was disappointed so I took my wife back the next day. I've gone here with my family for months and we've never been dissatisfied. The food is nice and its presentation is charming. The environment and decor are adorable with a lot of nice old stuff, feeling cozy like a grandma's house with the checkerboard and fireplace. Food was excellent as always! Never have I had a bad meal at a CB. Service was slow, the waitress came back only once to see if I needed a drink refill and that was when I was finishing my last corn bread muffin...sad thing is the restaurant was dead and I was dining single. I've been to this location a bunch of times but this time was great. Lots of friendly staff working and it was great to have no wait time. I noticed the staff were newer or haven't earned more than a star, but as I watched all of them interact with their tables, they were all doing fantastic. Our waiter (shout out Joey at the Janesville, WI) also super friendly and checked in on us. We had to send part of the meal back and it was effortless and the food came back perfect.
