Dinner at Cracker Barrel with the family felt like a culinary lottery, and we definitely didn’t win the jackpot. We ordered two steaks: one with shrimp, one with fried chicken. I asked for medium rare, but my steak showed up well done, while my wife's medium steak decided to swap places and came out medium rare. A real steak identity crisis! Absolutely amazing service and care from this team! Lucy truly made us feel welcome on our honeymoon, she made sure we were cared for, she went above and beyond, giving us excellent places to try out around the area. Went here on Thursday September 26th 2024 with my parents as part of our south carolina vacation. This is our first time at this location, but essentially, if you've been in one cracker barrel, you've been in them all! We went directly to the host stand located in the back. We were immediately sat down at a table. Side note is that we went for breakfast, luckily they do breakfast all day. and it was in the back of the lunch menu. Ordinarily, Cracker Barrel delivers good quality food and service. Last night, the food was over cooked. The steak fries were almost black they were so overcooked and were barely edible. We asked for additional fries and the server said she would ask the manager and then came back and said she would bring more fries but never did. The broccoli was also over cooked. Food and service were quite disappointing. We are usually asked at check out about our experience and were not asked. Not sure we will go back anytime soon.
For my starter here, we ordered the casserole tots, the casserole tots were very good and had decent portion. For the main course, i ordered lemon peppered rainbow trout with a side of steak fries and broccoli. Along with half a basket of biscuits half cornbread. The lemon peppered rainbow trout was overall a good menu option it was a decent portion and tasted good.
