Such a great place to be. Love the homey atmosphere and the home style food. The service is great and they have lovely managers. Jeff and Sarah keep the place alive. Ask for Kacey, Jackie, Marji, or Angel for the best experience. Try the take home meals! the meatloaf is delicious. This is the best spot in Lufkin for good southern food and a bit of nostalgia.
Waitress was very friendly and sweet. We did have to ask for napkins etc. Very prompt otherwise refilling waters quickly. Thank you! The okra was a bit hard and the chicken in the dumplings was tough. On the hand, the breakfast I ordered at supper was hot and amazing!
We went on holiday so expected them to be busy but it was absolute chaos!! Not just busy! They were out of chicken strips so we had to change 2 entrees - couldn’t get fried or grilled chicken strips. We could get lfried / grilled chicken breasts. We were at the table for almost an hour before food started trickling out. Last entree arrived at table 10 minutes after others had finished eating. Tried this cracker barrel location out in Lufkin. It's about like all other cracker barrels. The food tasted good. The service was good and fast. We recommend this location.
Mine and my family’s experience was not the best. We had to wait for a while to be seated and the restaurant was not full. Then we had to flag someone down to get service for our table. We waited about 15 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. Then when our food was served, some orders were incorrect. We were never offered refills a drinks and when we asked for something, the waitress seemed annoyed and had an attitude.
