My wife and I had a hankering for catfish so we stopped in at the Somerset, Ky store. We were seated promptly and Emma the waitress took our order within five minutes. I know that we stopped at an off-time being 3:45 pm trying to beat the supper bunch where some services may be a little longer. The restaurant was clean and very pleasant looking on the inside. Chicken was very tasty and juicy. All the right seasonings. Cold slaw was delicious and sweet. Dumplings were amazing. Such a great gravy taste to it. Also tried the cheese curds, and they were delicious. Love how cozy and warm it felt in there. Super homie and relaxing. Service was nice but a bit slow. Took a while to get the initial drinks.
I ordered grilled chicken. My chicken was burned and I mentioned this to the waitress and she said well sometimes they make it blackened. I said if I knew that I wouldn’t have ordered it. I told her it wasn’t called blackened chicken. She proceeded to lay our bill out and said sorry about that and walked away. Very poor service and food. The atmosphere is as always, honey and welcoming. We requested that they light a fire as we were seating in front of the fireplace and we had seen a manager putting wood in the grate bit we’re told it was too warm to light a fire at that time. Our service was timely and our server professional, friendly and accommodating. Our order took a bit of time and that is where my issue is. We had nearly 50 family members gather at the Somerset KY location and is was awesome. We had a section to ourselves and they had three hostesses take care of us. They did a great job and even took a few pictures of the group all together.
