Came here with my husband opening weekend..to say the least was disappointed by the food. Had Dave Hot Chicken previously on a trip and was excited about finally have a location in Toronto. We live on the east end so we made the 1hr trek downtown and waited about 30-40mins in line before ordering. Staff was friendly and nice ambiance but not sure if they messed up our order the spice level just wasn't there for me. Food was slightly cold as well.

I've been to Dave's Hot Chicken twice now. The first time, it was okay, but I think much of the experience reflected some opening jitters. The second time I went was great. The chicken was fresh and all of the sides were fantastic. Staff were vigilant about enforcing COVID-19 safety protocols, and service was still fast despite this. Just a warning, Dave's Hot Chicken is waaaay hotter than you would assume. Mild is spicy. Medium is very spicy. Hot is more spicy than anything I've ever had. Enjoy with caution. 5/5

Ever since my wife and I found out that Dave's hot chicken was coming to Toronto we couldn't wait to try it again after enjoying it on our trip in LA a couple years ago. But we were quite disappointed when we got our food. The staff there were quite friendly and did the best they can especially with all the covid restrictions that were in place, but I'm not sure if it's just the location but the food was not to par of what we've had at their LA location. We've been anticipating the grand opening of Dave's for quite some time and was able to check them out on their opening day!!! Tried their Chicken Tender & Slider with fries in Mild and a Mac n Cheese. The chicken was juicy and delicious but the only let down was their seasoning was way too salty. The Mac n Cheese was quite average with hints of jalapeños. They're also giving away beanies as a grand opening gift!
