TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Dave's is back in my good graces. (I'm sure they are SO happy!) The issues they had on my last few visits have been resolved and they added the cauliflower to the menu. If you haven't had it, get it and make it spicy. It is DELICIOUS. I was very happy with the portions and quality of the food. As always, the service is great.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was the long wait time. They need more employees. So I got the cauliflower sliders and I have to say that I personally prefer it more than the chicken. It was so delicious. Thank goodness the place was clean but super cold. So had to take the food to go. For a chain fast food place you all get a thumbs up.

I have always enjoyed Dave's Hot Chicken. In my experience the heat level had been a bit inconsistent based on the cook. BUT LAST NIGHT!!!!!! Wow. Whoever the cook was on 2/28/2025...great job. The chicken was a perfect medium heat and the chicken was so crispy and moist. DHC please give that cook more hours!!!! Food 10/10 Wait time 7/10 Amount of food Price $$

Honestly, it's rare that Dave's misses, but this one has yet to do that and whenever I've ordered food it's been solid. The staff is very friendly and do a great job at fulfilling online orders online. The interior of the restaurant also has a pretty cool layout.
