TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Busy but delicious hot chicken. I got the slider with fries combo with extra Dave sauce. I went for the hot spice level, which was exactly what I was looking for with a hot chicken sandwich. The spice was balanced out by the slaw and the cheese that I got on the sandwich, the fries were crispy even though I ate them about 15 minutes after leaving, and the Dave sauce tied everything together really really well. Yeah no they tripping for sure, I got a #4 and they put a chicken tender on here. I spent $32 on this food for me and my girl, and she wants me to drive 20 minutes for a replacement instead of giving me a partial refund for the partial amount of food. So when I tell her you basically taking more money out my pocket making me drive over there, and she said “I wouldn’t eat no food that was made wrong” customer service at its finest y’all.
Hot chicken is a Nashville creation. And it is my favorite! So it was a surprise to see hot chicken right outside the Notre Dame campus. The chicken is so tender on the inside with flavour bursting from the Cajun rub. My favorite is still Hatti B's in Nashville but this is up there. Suggest combo 3 which includes a slider and a chicken tender. The fries that come with it are also pretty good. I went for the Fire heat rating and it was spicy but didn't make me feel horrible afterwards.
I have been here a few times with the family and each time has been on point! The Staff have been friendly and patient (some in party took some time to order) and once we got our food it came out great! The chicken was well seasoned and tender, the daves sauce complimented the seasoning. The environment is vibrant, beautiful. Also, peanut/treenut safe! This is now a staple for us!
This is one of my favorite places to eat in the area, from a quality to value to price ratio standpoint. I get a slider, a tender, fries, and a drink for like $16. It’s a lot of food and it is always hot, fresh, and incredibly tasty. I am surprised by other reviewers questioning the price point, I feel like you get a ton of value for your money here compared to other fast casual restaurants. Love Dave’s Hot Chicken.
