My friend told me a Dave's hot chicken had opened walking distance from the gym so obviously we had to grab some protein after a work out. I love chicken sandwiches so I worked out extra hard just to grab some. I decided to go with "medium" just to start out because I wasn't sure how spicy it was. I didn't eat inside the restaurant, there really isn't that much space inside to eat. The restaurant was clean and decorated as any regular NYC restaurant is. There was no line, and the cashier who took my order was friendly. Ordered a vanilla shake and some chicken tenders and waffle fry combos. The chickens have different levels of heat. Dave's hot chicken isn't really spicy if you can handle it. Their chicken is always juicy. I enjoy the slider a lot which comes with a slaw and soft bun. The chicken tender comes with a slice of bread and pickles. The Dave sauce is a nice dipping sauce and get some honey too. The combo comes with fries but you can substitute it with Mac and cheese. The chicken is overly seasoned, but moist and juicy. It's good to try the first time, but to keep going back to it is nothing special.

I was in the area after my yoga class and was looking for something to eat. Lo and behold, I found this place. I must have entered about 11:30am, so it wasn't crowded. Barry was the counter person. He greeted me as soon as I walked in. He was very pleasant and professional. He was honest about the level of hotness/ heat levels. Fine for what it is. The hot chicken is spicy for sure. But real Nashville hot chicken isn't as oily as it is here. Other than that, the food tastes good. But it's also pretty expensive.
