Tried Dave's for the first time. Was pretty good but not great for the price. $35 for fast food for two was a bit much, granted I was greeted with the tip prompt on the POS and inadvertently hit 15%! Combo meals should include drinks. Maybe we'll go back, maybe not.

Dave's Hot Chicken in Longmont is amazing! The chicken is super flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly and definitely lives up to the hype. I love that you can pick your spice level, so there's something for everyone whether you want just a little heat or something spicy. The staff here is friendly and quick, and the service makes the experience even better. I tried Dave's Hot Chicken and got two chicken sliders, which were well-fried, tasty, and plenty of food. The fries were okay but not crispy enough for my taste, though probably fine for most. The meal came in a nice basket, but $14.99 felt too pricey for what you get, plus $2.69 for a Coca-Cola. It's decent fast food, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it-doesn't come close to Chick-fil-A. Pretty good chicken. Note the extra-hot is comparable to Thai hot or Indian hot so they aren't messing around. The sauce cuts the heat a bit. The spice is kind of a powdery dry rub, so a bit different from Nashville hot if you are expecting that. The meat on one slider is like a large tender so 2 sliders is not too much.

The service here is top notch, given that the cashier was very thorough and knowledgeable with the menu and explaining choices (more on this in a moment) and after receiving food, staff checked in with us. The spicy chicken sandwiches/sliders are delicious. For me, they lose the 5th star with the unusual menu. The 4 combo meals center around "sliders", which at this place are halfway in between a full-size sandwich and the approximately 1/4 size slider that we would get anywhere else.
