Another takeout lunch that pleased my grandchildren and me. Their new Mozzarella menu items, Chicken Bites, and fries appeal to the young ones if not me. They enjoyed their lunches. I like the large, moist, perfectly fried chicken breast tenders, and I love the flavorful Kale Slaw. Both delicious, and the signature Dave's Sauce is so good! I was given three additional portions which I will use to dip veggies or ? Again I will comment on how clean the place is. Floors, counters, tables, chair backs were refreshingly c... read more

Takeout/pickup here for second time. Plusses: Helpful, friendly servers (told me how to save by ordering #1s and substituting Slaw for fries rather than order side of Slaw. Kale Slaw was very good, perfect blend of sweet and savory. See photo. Restaurant was super clean! Dine in area is huge. Its corner location with windows on two sides let in nice natural light. Enjoyed the Cauliflower Slices! Dave's Sauce is excellent. Server asked if I wanted extra. Yes! Hold next time: Slices White Bread - prefer to eat with... read more

The service was impeccable and chicken has become my favorite take out meal. I'm glad they opened their business in the Mohawk Commons.

New to Schenectady, Dave's Hot Chicken is located at 412 Balltown Road in Mohawk Commons, Niskayuna, NY, right next to Panera Bread. The fast/casual place serves "Nashville-style" hot chicken tenders, sliders in seven spice levels from No Spice to Reaper plus many sides. We ordered takeout for six of us on a cold 13 degree December Saturday. Orders included: Spicy Bites Jumbo tenders Sliders Regular fries and Cheese fries kale slaw Regular size Oreo top loaded Shake ($7.19) (Did not try the Mac and Cheese this time) Dave... read more

New place, still very much in the "soft opening" phase--tons of staff in training. We ordered for two people and both meals came out wrong, but since we're eating in, it was an easy fix. Not the best execution yet, but the location is super convenient.

Five Guys is to hamburgers as Dave's Hot Chicken is to...you know the rest. I guess these hot chicken chains are trending now. I wondered what the fuss was about so I tried it. First, don't expect it to be a fast food joint. You order the food, pay the bill, and get a beeper. Wait. And wait. My order took about 20 minutes to be ready. There were several of us in the same situation. Was it worth the wait? Yes, although 2 chicken sliders and fries for $15 isn't a bargain, in my opinion. Sign of the times. They are always short staffed and have customers waiting extended periods of time...to then be told that they aren't taking any additional orders. Highly unprofessional and does not provide the best service.
