RecommendedWe visited the Desert of Maine with our two grandsons, ages 6.5 and 8. They loved trekking the desert, walking in the woods, sitting in the Model T and digging for gems and fossils. We enjoyed learning about the history of the desert and the families who owned it. I would recommend a water station by the digging area. I look forward to seeing the new replica buildings that are being constructed.

RecommendedAbsolutely wonderful! We stayed in one of the new A-frame cabins, it was adorable and had what we needed, the bath house is very clean which is nice! We loved the mini golf course and seeing the Desert and exploring and learning about it's history! Awesome place for kids, families, couples, dogs.. it's awesome!

RecommendedThis was our first visit, even though I am a native Mainer and grandmother. Took my daughter and grandchildren (4&6). My daughter and I found the self tour very interesting and were able to read most of the signs while the children raced across the sand dunes. The children loved Gemstone Village! The little houses, maze and especially digging for gems. We were disappointed that the fossil dig was not yet open, as I’m sure that would have been fun for them too. RecommendedGreat time visiting the Desert of Maine! The kids absolutely loved the gem finding, exploring the desert and playing on the playground! We hope to be back this summer to try our mini golf! Great staff and very attentive to any needs or help!

RecommendedIt’s probably been 10 yrs since we were last there and I have to say all the additions and improvements are amazing! We stopped in for a game of mini golf before the rain started and plan to go back another day to explore the desert! So much fun!

RecommendedWe recently became a member of the Desert of Maine and thought it would be the perfect place to host our daughter's 5th birthday party. It was a HUGE success!
