About this business

About Dogwood Canyon Nature Park "Promote and protect the natural environment of the canyon’s wildlife and plant life." Aside from a few amenities to make Dogwood Canyon Nature Park more accessible to our guests, the rugged landscape has been left untouched and, with just a little imagination, you can travel back to a time when European settlers first entered the area or, even further, to explore the mark that Native Americans left on these Missouri hills and hollows. The first parcels of the property were acquired in 199... read more

We went not knowing what to expect (other than it's a park). First, there is a small charge to enter ($15 but worth every penny) and they offer extras like tram and horseback riding for an extra cost (great for people who can't walk for 8 miles round-trip to see everything). You start at a large, modern building with local artifacts, a small restaurant and clean restrooms. The path you walk is flat and paved - easily traversed by foot or bike (which is allowed). We had the most perfect day exploring this hidden gem. We ate at the amazing & gorgeous restaurant, explored the Tree House & Nature Center before going on a 2 hour tram with the our AWESOME tour guide, Ian. He was an encyclopedia of information, interactive with the group & entertaining. If you love waterfalls, creeks, trout fishing, caves, bluffs, & getting up close to Bison, elk & Longhorn cows, this park will not disappoint. We loved every minute of our day there & highly recommend it!

Monica and all the staff were wonderful! Can’t say enough good about them! My mom had a surprise engagement and without the staff it wouldn’t have been possible. We will definitely be back!

Started with a fantastic lunch, amazing artifacts and then a tram ride through the most amazing place we've ever visited. Ian was our guide and so knowledgeable made everything so interesting, we'll be back and if you don't know about this place please look for it.

It can be expensive but it’s worth the trip. We go almost twice a year and have never been disappointed. This is a great way to Get away and enjoy outside alone or with the family. Highly recommended
