We hired Downwood Vinyard for our annual family weekend away which saw 14 of us and one dog get together to eat, drink and play games. The house provided everything we needed, space to relax, well equipped kitchen, large dining room table and of course the games room, tennis court and hot tub. Really enjoyed our weekend at Downwood Vineyard - lovely large rooms and our family made good use of games room, tennis court and hot tub. Met on arrival and shown around by Max which was very helpful. Great house for a large family gathering.

On plus side really comfortable bed and quiet. Otherwise - wrongly described as detached! Neighbours on both sides and above! Not advised floors are very uneven and two deep steps up to bathroom. No electrical items showing PAT tested. No fire blanket. No electric fan and little air circulation. Not helped by not being able to turn off heated towel rail in bathroom which is so close to toilet and so little room in bathroom as very small so dangerous as almost impossible to not burn yourself on it. I felt that it was impersonal being welcomed and managed electronically and remotely. There was nobody available face to face to talk to. Being continually reminded several days before departure that I needed to depart at 11.00am was quite irritating. The accommodation was smaller internally than I was given to expect through advertising photographs. A lovely location but let down by many things needing repairing in the cabin. Shower floods the bathroom. Bathroom doorway with huge chunks of plaster missing. Curtain tiebacks hanging off the walls. Tired and in need of repair.
