I went to see Dr. Smail after having a bad experience with another oral surgeon. Dr Smail and his staff were kind, patient, professional, and experts in their field. The treatment is far superior to any other. I would highly recommend Dr Smail
My last review was “unhelpful” to a few, so I will clarify. Dr Smail saved my life. After a local well known dentist extracted 2 healthy teeth without the benefit of antibiotics I developed a nasty infection resulting in a hospitalization. Dr Smail was the surgeon who drained my infection from my neck before it could reach my heart. Insurance billing is my main complaint! I had minor oral surgery in October 2018. it took until February 2019 for the office to bill my dental insurance. I paid out of pocket at the time of service while they billed my health insurance. The claim was denied; when I phoned the office I was told that since I had surgery my dental insurance would not cover this procedure. I requested for them to bill dental about 5-6 times! Finally 4 months later I received reimbursement from my dental insurance
I traveled from Glens Falls to Latham on the recommendation for Dr.Smail, I do not regret the travel time at all. He was excellent ,explained my options and discussed the procedure in detail . He is only surpassed by his excellent staff. I had a minor problem which was not the fault of his work and he found time in his busy schedule to get me in to get looked at. I now have a broken tooth that must be extracted and I would only go to Dr.Smail .
Repeat patient. Would not go anywhere else.
I had an extremely positive experience. I was referred to this office after I had fled another incompetent practitioner who could not succeed with implant surgery. I wish I had found this setting first. But, now that I have, I would happily refer implant patients to this Doctor without reservations. High tech, comforting, and competent.
I am more than pleased with Dr Email. Met several years for extraction and again through Ellis Dental. Worked on implants. He is a wonderful dentist and puts you at ease. He I very thorough I would send anyone to him.
If I can give zero stars I would. Went for wisdom teeth extraction and came out with level 2 nerve damage in my tongue, and level 1 in my bottom lip. The staff made a great first impression during the consultation, but during the procedure I woke up while Dr. Smail was still breaking down my last wisdom tooth. Nurses held my arms down and I received another injection in my mouth and went back to “sleep”.
