Our French bulldog Tonka went in for a spay this morning. Making the appointment was easy, drop off and pick up was easy, front door tech was nice. The staff called Tonka a princess ! She is a spoiled drama queen indeed. She hated being in a cage.. thats not her fault, we have never crated her before . Anyway, all went well. When I noticed my dog's fractured tooth, I immediately began calling around to find a good vet to take care of the extraction and also check her other teeth. Dr Kelly's not only was the most affordable one I found, but also the most communicative, detailed, and kind. The staff was friendly and upfront about cost estimates, and at no point tried to upsell on unnecessary treatments. Had a found german shepard girl who was traumatized by being dumped, and we ended up keeping her after months of trying to find the owner. We had a vet check and were unable to confirm if she was spayed. Hormone tests were almost if not more expensive than surgery. Found Dr. Kelly through Maddies Fund, and they got us an appt and I explained the consern. On appt day, they did everything they could to check her (traumatized shepherd) for signs of a spay. I don't usually post reviews but I wanted to share my experience as I am SO pleased with Dr. Kelly's vet clinic... For one, I am not a resident of Tucson. I live out of state and was worried my 8lb chihuahua was going into heat for her third time... might I add - she showed symptoms of pyometra (infection of uterus) towards the end of her last heat. My girl Eve had severe dental disease. We had gotten an estimate from our vet on Drexel who quoted us $1600-2500 for cleaning and possible extraction. I was told about Dr Kelly's Surgical Unit. I called, got a very reasonable quote and scheduled with them within 3 weeks in Tucson. Eve had her cleaning as well as 5 teeth extracted for $575.00!! Meds were included with that price. Wonderful - caring, concerned, professional, priced well, annual dental work for my 6 1/2 yr old toy poodle. Did a great job, cleaned her teeth, extracted 4, will see them again in a year.

I am upgrading my review from 1 to 3 stars - due to the manner of handling of my need for emergency surgery for internal bleeding of my dog after spay procedure. Dylan the managing owner has handled this situation with professionalism and accountability. He has made a claim for my expenses related to this botched job and has followed up to provide staple removal for my pet. Thank you, Dylan. It's not that something happens, it's how you handle it when it does!
