I had an ear biopsy in December. I received a text one evening that I had malignant melanoma. I called the next day and asked to speak with the Dermatologist sometime that day. The receptionist said that the best we could do is have the dermatologist call me sometime in the next 48 hours. I found that unacceptable, both as a patient and as a retired private entrepreneurial internist, with a solo practice for more than 25 years. I perceived the receptionist as uncaring..
