Horrible experience all around. I chose this storage space because it was close to the house to which I was moving. I booked online without checking it out first - bad move. Although the website automatically sends you a gate code, once you get into the gate, there is no obvious entry. I ended up having to return during their office hours to inquire as to how to enter the storage section and get to my unit. As of 27 days since Hurricane Ida, Extra Space Storage has not contacted me about the damage to their facility. We only found out when we attempted to visit today to swap out a few items that there's damage on every floor and that renters are supposed to be scheduling appointments to get inside and inspect their units. The exorbitant price for the required insurance should be illegal. Renters insurance for $25,000 coverage is far less than the insurance for $5,000. Additionally, I called to cancel the unit and asked when I needed to be moved out I was told the day before the rate increased, and I told them I would be out by then. I was indeed out by that date. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. The management of this facility does not care. We stored our RV at the facility since last June. In September, we went to retrieve the RV for a weekend trip and realized that one of our propane tanks was missing. We questioned the facility about looking at video footage to possibly figure out who took the tank or what happened. I have used this location twice. Once before it were bought out by Extra Space and once after. The first time, things were fine. The second time, things were far from fine. I had a climate controlled unit on the 3rd floor for 9 months and would visit it monthly just to grab a few things. The last two months it was unbearably hot. One of the employees even complained saying that he hated having to do maintenance on that floor because the A/C units were broken. Do not rent here! I look young (about 18) though I'm 23 and a working adult. It's not often that people try and take advantage of me, but Kristine (the female manager) told me that I could pro-rate my second month of storage and lied about when I had to tell her by. I called a week before moving out and she told me it was not enough time (though she told me when I signed up for the storage unit that I could let her know a day or two before) to let her know and there was nothing she could do. The units are over-priced and the insurance they offer is useless. Everything in my indoor, "climate controlled" unit is covered in mold. The insurance they offer that we have paid for (at an additional cost) for 5 years is 100% worthless as they refuse to cover the damage. We have been trying to get this resolved since February .... As of 07/06/15 we have been unable to provide them with the pictures they requested of our damaged unit content because their email system cannot handle receiving pictures. I've only been renting for a few weeks and I'm already regretting it. Twice when I've tried to go to the office the door has been locked - during normal business hours. On my first visit, the door was locked but a guy came to the door and greeted me with "what brings you in today?" -which would have been nice had it not been said in a "what the he$$ do you want?" kind of tone. I kept my 2015 Keystone Hideout at this location for a period of 60 days. Near the end of my term, my RV was broken into through the back window. Fortunately, I didn't have anything of value stored, so the person must have filtered through my personal documentation on the trailer and left without causing too much damage. The emergency lock on the back window is broken and scrapes all along the window frame are now visible.
