I had a unit here for a couple years after I moved my grandparents out of their house. I ended up needing to leave and find a new place to go to because they constantly raise the rent every 3 months. We went from around $300 a month when we first opened the unit to well over $600 by the time we left. The guys working there will lie to you about everything if it means selling you the unit. Everything from how much and when they do rent increases to their security. The put a sticker on your lock and they supposedly walk the g... read more

I have sadly been at this location for over 30 years. Shame on me. It has changed owners/names I believe three times. But in the scheme of things, loyalty means nothing to the operators of Extra Space Storage. I have a family of four and we live in a small house on a fixed income. As a result, we needed extras space. So, we rented one place, and eventually got a larger one. It was convenient and the larger space was in the $200 range. Disappointed, that as a long time existing customer my rate is raised every year (from $208 to $218 to $238). I looked on their web site and the same size & drive up access is offered at $169 also with drive up access. I called to switch to that unit and was told I can't move to a same size unit, only a different size. They prices are for New Customers only. When signing your agreement, it states that they can increase 10% every year, and they will. Guess existing customers who pay promptly are not appreciated here!

OK so I have to say that everything was easy peasy up until the very end. I haven't used a storage unit in quit some time so I guess things have changed.... Unit = Great Space = Great Signing up = Great Closing Out = Disappointing... Ok so here's why, my bro and I cleaned out the storage unit, left nice & clean ( we cleaned it out just before the gate hours ended, only time we had and could get a truck, office closed ). This place does not provide the true rate information upfront. I recently found out that Extra Space's business practice is to adjust the promotional rate that they sell you on after 5 months. Obviously the adjustment is an increase to the monthly rate. After they increase the rate after 5 months they typically adjust the rate every 9 months after. I've been with them for just over a year and my monthly rate has gone up twice. When I called to complain to the manager he had an "oh well" attitude. He was the one that informed... read more
