Rising Rents /Change in Managment I have been a long term renter of on of the larger units at ESS on Forest Park Ave and have previously praised management. Unfortunately, similar to some other posts, I received notification that my rent will increase by 20% this month.....no doubt victim to an automated yielding program. I am writing this review after renting a storage unit for the last 6 months. I first want to precedent that when I started my relationship with this facility, the man who moved me in was the friendliest and most helpful person. He fixed my door so it would slide better and provided an extensive tour. During move-in and move-out, one of the garage doors was broken, which was a significant inconvenience because it made it difficult to load the car from the most accessible access point. Rats here. Enough said. As a college student, it really sucks to come back from the summer and have poop/urine all over my mattress foam, clothes and duvet. Had to throw away almost all of my stuff along with tons of sentimental belongings because of the feces. Had the insurance but was told it would take around 2 months to get reimbursed. Might as well just left my stuff outside if I was going to end up throwing away all of it anyway. I'm not sure what I paid them for. Just leaving my stuff in the dumpster would have save... read more
RATES RAISED $15 EVERY SIX MONTHS SINCE I STARTED RENTING. Reported because they want to keep pace with true real estate values, but very disingenuous business practice for customers after giving good intro rate.

Used this location for storage and everything from my dishes, to my washer and dryer was damaged by movers that Extra Space Storage hired...Paid for the insurance but they still said it wasn't on them and it's the moving company that they "HIRED" fault....WTF????? All you people that pay for that insurance....drop it extra money in your pockets....I wouldn't use them again, nor will I recommend anyone to use this company.
Beware of teaser rates. Rates rise often and by a large percentage. Rent only if you are certain you can be out in 12 weeks.
