Storage service overall was good. The problem is they lured me in with a rate of less than $200, and just within 2 months of having spent the hundreds of dollars of moving expenses between a truck, paying a friend to help, the time it took to do all the moving work, and the storage fees themselves, one is not in a position to move again after all the work of one move within a month or two. MOUSE AND PIGEON INFESTED PROPERTY. Insurance on units is a scam. Every few months the price goes way up. No change on property is being made. Familys items have been contami contaminated now and we have to buy traps to trap and clean ourselves. They knew before we rented unit that they had units next to that were full of trash and garbage they waited till we rented it and moved in to disclose the mouse problem and that they had to wait for approval to clean next door units. I just lost $116.46 !!!!!!! For a unit I never used.I called over the phone and made the payment 5/16. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to move without a new address. I got rid of half my belongings, furniture, etc. and placed the rest in a 10X10 storage unit at what was then called Life Storage, now Extra Space Storage. This was in January of 2023. I'm sure I had an intro rate but it has continuously increased. Only once in 3 years did I get a notice of a pending increase. What a scam. My rate nearly doubled after just 4 months. The website said web rate and inferred that was going to be my monthly rate. No asterisk or limited promo offer label during the sign up process. The *** does say rates will be adjusted from time to time. But nearly doubling the rate after 4 months is ridiculous. I called the customer service and was lectured about market costs with zero empathy and no help. I was at my storage spaces yesterday and i was dealing with my moms health issues but the mgr accused me of having been in the facility for over 8hours and stealth camping. I was there for 1.5-2hrs. The mgr threatened to cancel my contract and have me trespassed. In addition for some reason its impossible to tell why but one of the 4 units are a month ahead and it still says I owe money but the office said I was up to date. The 1.2k per month for over a year should have provided more flexibility to work with my stuff longer ... read more
This place a scam! They start you out at a low rate and then they raise it continuously. I started out at $50 then 70 then 90 and past 4 months $130 all within a year. I will be moving out asap
