Rented a storage a month ago was homeless the whole month my property was kept here. Finally found a place to live just to come back to my property with an additional lock I did no place on it. I reached out to customer service multiple times just to get the run around my reported move out date is on a day they are not open. I am expected to move out with no access to my property and best part of it all my account is current, yet no management is available to remove the lock off my storage unit.
Places are clean, bright and look great except when someone breaks into multiple storage units and they steal your stuff. In ******,AZ the extra space storage on ************* has large openings above the roll up doors so that the cooling vents can blow into the units. We'll guess what, the same openings allow people to climb over and into your unit and break the lock from the inside, then steal your stuff. This Extra space storage has a rat infestation. Horrible experience and they dont care and wont do anything about it.
We recently encountered a distressing situation with our storage unit. A significant part of the wall was noticeably seeping water, resulting in a constant trickle down its surface. This led to our stored items becoming damp and infested with a black, slimy mold. The odor was intense and unbearable.Due to ongoing construction, we were unable to access our unit and were advised to return at a later time. Late fee charges.Company charges late fee based on a percentage of your rental space fee. My apartment charges a flat fee of $50.00 no matter how much your rent is. Is this legal for Extra Space to charge based on a percentage? I never heard of such.This is ridiculous! I dont live there I just rent a space. I have contacted the Attorney General and am awaiting an answer. Shame on Extra Space.
I rented a storage back in 11/4/223 at ************************************. Within 48 hours, there was a burglary incident happened. My stolen items were worth over $10k. I purchased worth $2k insurance coverage recommended by them. I filed a lost claim against this ************** took more than 2 months to receive settlement payment. THIS HAS TO BE THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I EVER WENT THROUGH AT AT STORAGE UNIT MY STORAGE WAS BROKEN INTO AND RANSACKED SMH EVERYTHING OF HIGH VALUE I OWNED IS GONE! I moved out my apartment of November of 2023. I made my reservation and put all my personal items even my children school stuff in there because they are special needs children. I had to downsize my new apartment.So, I went to the storage just so will do a bait and switch scheme to advertise people to get a storage if and when for FREE for one month. I started a lease for a storage unit in July 2022 at $11/month. I received a notice a year later in August 2023 saying my rate would jump to $30/month. Then recently, not even a year after my last increase, I received a notice saying my rate would jump again to $40/month. My monthly has more than tripled in less than 2 years. This reeks of price gouging and bait and switch business tactics.
