I made an appointment with Genesis Counseling center and I can firmly say, I'm glad I did. Although it was a long wait to get an appointment, but that is to be expected with a shortage of counselors and an overburdened mental health system. My counselor was great, we met and he introduced himself and went over the confidentiality clauses and made everything easy to understand. I felt a genuine sense of care from him and he made definitely provided a warm and caring environment for healing.
A wonderful first experience as I get into counseling! It was so refreshing to finally find a location that not only had the room for me, but also the time to communicate efficiently with me. Everyone I met was extremely kind, and the office was professional and comfortable.
I have has nothing but great experiences with Genesis Counseling Center. Over the course of the year, my daughter has made tremendous strides with her counselor. I highly recommend.
I've been on a waiting list for a counselor for over a year. However, I continue to get emails "inviting" me to rate them as the best practice in Hampton Roads.
Michael Brown is phenomenal at EMDR therapy and Dr. Black was great at diagnosing what I have going on and giving me a course of treatment that should help
