Great Nation did a fantastic job. The were prompt and careful with all of my goods and I cant be any happier. Everything arrived intact with no scratches or damages, the price was good too. Over all my experience was a good one.
Couple of weeks ago I got a call from Great nations van lines. Their agent Mimi was on the other side. She fixed the moving date and time and gave an approximate quote based on the details I provided through their online form. They sent Samuel, Erick, Marks and some other guys, I just forgot all of their names!! They worked at great pace. Used easy and simple techniques to pack and wrap each and every stuff. This past summer we hired Great nation for our long cross country move. It was from Virginia to California. Its too long, huh!! I dealt with Rose over email and phone to arrange the process. Sent a list of movable items and details with number of rooms. That went pretty well. Rose worked through my list and offered me quotation. This was a terrible experience. Very unclear about delivery times, things were broken, the owner screamed and cursed at me. Terrible experience and I would never use again.
Moving is a stressful experience. In my case, Great Nation Moving - more specifically, David S Yanoff (the CEO) - only made this experience worse. AVOID AT ALL COST. They canceled my cross-country move a day before. I called several times confirming and they constantly reassured me it was fine but two days before they said they couldnt accommodate me and ghosted me when I tried to call back for more information. One day before I called them and they said they couldnt do it. Now, I have to rent, pack, and drive a u-haul 1300 miles because they screwed me over.
First of all, I want to state that my review is no reflection on the crew as they worked hard and I took very good care of the directly. In terms of the business experience, it was awful and we felt we were misled and extorted. They charged us an extra $2700 over the detailed proposal they agreed to after we met with them at the home and inventoried everything we were planning to have move. Can't rate value for money until move is complete. Crew did not arrive when company said they would. Even that day I got four different arrival times and they arrived an hour after the latest time. Dispatcher was not in control. Crew arrived one person short from what we were told. Result was packing began at 3:30 pm and loading completed at 1:00 am the next morning. I had no choice but to stay and complete the paperwork and lock the house. That's not good customer service.
DO NOT HIRE THIS MOVING COMPANY. I would give no stars if possible. The company rep I dealt with quoted us an estimate of $7,000.00 without an onsite inspection. We were next requested to send photos of every room to be packed and moved. We were told any packing we did in the meantime would lower the cost of our move. We packed a good portion of our items to be moved, some already packed in plastic bins, and also eliminated all contents of our garage, and furniture from the front and back porch, believing it would lower the ... read more
