I’ve ordered leaf compost many times before for the community gardens at my work, including several times from H. Hafner and Sons. Tired of buying by the bag, I decided this year to finally order bulk leaf compost for my home. I was so disappointed to see the quality of the scoops we received. Called to see if they delivered to Independence, ky. I asked for a 1/4 cord and for stacking, I was told they do not stack if there are any steps. I ordered the 1/4 cord, which was dumped in my drive as requested and the driver took off. When I stacked the wood it was short of being a 1/4 cord (it measured in the rack 18" deepx8' longx30" high") and was not seasoned ( average moisture content was 20-25%. Called this morning about bringing a bunch of old wood from a deck to dispose of. The lady told me that yes they will take it. Drive half an hour to get there and find out they charge over $90 to dispose of it. That would have been nice to know when I called!!!

Rudest old bastard that owns or runs the property. I let ten of his trucks out onto the roadway. You'd think with courtesy he'd let me back out of his drive heck no. He has to be king ding a ling and throw his authority around and curse not politely ask me to move. So I give them a big Zero for Professionalism and Courtesy especially in the fellow trucking industry.
Been a customer for years - not after today. Headed to Evans for friendly service even if it does cost a few more bucks..
Was going to order 6 yards of mulch and 12 bales of straw, somewhere around $350 in product not counting the new revised increased delivery charge of $50 but I needed the straw dropped off four houses down from where the mulch was to be delivered...Hafner would not do this, company policy. Four houses down the street and they wanted me to pay another delivery charge ( $100 in total). This customer’s policy.....I’ll go elsewhere!
