Works great with Linux Works great with Linux, Windows, Android. Setup and operation were easy. Printing from mobile is hugely convenient. Nice color quality. Copies are easy and come out great too. One of those things you didn't realize you've needed until you have it.
but so far - AMAZING! Simple to set-up too Where has this been all my life?! So much faster printing now. I'm curious to see how long the cartridges that came with it last, but so far - AMAZING! Simple to set-up too.

Printer was easy to setup on our local network using a peer ... Printer was easy to setup on our local network using a peer to peer network. Quiet and easy to operate. Some quirks I haven't quite figured out yet but have only had for a week. Printing from my Android I am still working to get print smaller. Overall I really like the printer. We have been using Brother printers for the last 5 years.
Good solid home printer Print quality is as expected. It's good enough for everyday printing for personal use, but if I needed something with a strong, solid presentation, say for business, etc, I'd still have to run to the copy store. It also takes a while from the moment you click "print" to when it actually fires up the printer, up to a minute or two sometimes. Happy with purchase So far its been a great printer. Prints sharp, and has given me no trouble after 500 pages so far.
We LOVE this printer We use this printer a LOT. It prints great and does photo well too. We homeschool and have a small home business. The cartiridges it comes with don't last long but the new ones lasted about a year. Another great Brother product!!
Ditch the inkjet and it’s headaches! Wow, I should have bought a laser printer years ago! My old ink jet was a complete hassle, it barely worked and the ink was always dried whenever I really needed to print. Nothing worse than going to the big mega mart store to buy ink at 10pm to print a paper. The printer prints beautifully and connected to my WiFi no issues. Have great sucess with Brother printers This is not my first Brother laser printer. I had the HL4040 prior to this one. While that was a great printer, had it about 8 years, the cartridges were terribly expensive at around $100 each (and that was generic). It was a heavy beast and only printed. When the cartridges started to go again I felt it would be just as cheap this time to purchase a new one with more features. I think this one is well priced for everything it offers.
