Overall, ok property. The tub/shower was DANGEROUS! Please be careful getting in and out. Getting out is very dangerous because you’re stepping down. There really needs to be a slip resistant stool available. We’re tall and we had issues getting in and out. I threw my back out stepping down because I misjudged how far it was. The staff was very accommodating. The restaurant on site was good. Short walk to downtown, and a shuttle to the airport and train station. Shuttle rules very strict though. Shuttle staff was pleasant.

So, OK, what can I say about this hotel? It's probably the most affordable decent hotel in Anchorage. Nowhere near as nice as the Hilton or Captain Cook. It's located a bit away from downtown. I'd describe the area as safe and even somewhat suburban. The room we had was REALLY old, but the great part is that it has a small kitchen area and table. What was lousy was the lack of electricity. The free shuttle to the airport and railroad depot and the free breakfast were pluses. The rooms were a bit dated. If you are in a rush, getting the breakfast may be a problem as it is not self-serve and so you should leave time in case there are people ahead of you.

Well located and next door to New Saguaia market. However, the building is rundown and still has a faint smell of cigarettes from the bygone days of smokers. Short staffed but friendly. I stayed here 15 yrs ago and thought it was a gem so I booked an over night to get us thru til the morning after a midnight arrival to Stevens Airport. I was quite disappointed to see the decline.

The front desk was not overly helpful. The line for breakfast was absurdly long and slow.

Slightly dated, but wonderful staff. Restaurant and bar on the premises.
