Purchase Jandy valves. Only buy Jandy valves. I purchased one like it and leaked at the screws from day one. I did not over tighten, as these don't need to be tightened, just snug. I have purchased 5 Jandy valves for my pool, and haven't had any problem with any of them. Good product, cost is a bit more but not having a problem is worth it. You don't want to remove after re-plumbing your pool.
Can't go wrong with Jandy! For some reason my pool builder didn't put a shutoff valve on the main drain line. I didn't realize I needed one until I started learning about vacuuming the pool floor. Rather than waiting for the pool builder to have some time to install it for me, I ordered a Jandy valve and took on the job myself. It was a pretty simple job. 5.0 out of 5 stars Genuine Valve, not a knock off Chinese part I'm glad the valve was OEM and not a knock off. Installation went well and everything worked perfectly. Good vendor. These valves are not much more than the Chinese knock offs but you get the Jandy neverlub valve and that makes it worth the extra little cost.
