The two men did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves. They were careful of our belongings, which is important to me. We are happy to have the windows replaced.
I called the Portland office manager to see what steps we could take to rectify a young installer's cutting - removing of the nailing strip from the windows. Instead of a discussion, I received a one way lecture on contracts. I have been a contracting officer for years with the US Army. I know and understand contracts. I had to have a special floor pan designed for my house because of the way it was built. It uses 4×6 trusses to support the floor, and they cut a four-inch chunk out of one. The whole reason we had to have a center pan was to avoid doing that, so the communication between the work order and the installer was zero. I had to buy a $300 floor jack to fix that beam, so my house doesn't fall. A 4×6 with a four-inch cut in it, is a 2×4; that is all you are left, so they destroyed the structure under my house.
