Amazing place. Read the inscriptions high up in the dome.
The most beautiful building in the city and, quite possibly, the country. The history, the architecture, the knowledge- the place has it all in abundance. It is so much more than a working library.
I was blown away by the beauty, iconography & craftsmanship of this building!! The staff is most wonderful, exhibits super, and the collection of Jefferson's books is awe inspiring. I must go back and explore further...need to get up to the main reading room!
