This was my first time at GAITHERSBURG HAIR COLOR BAR. My colorist, Sid, was fantastic! However, my experience with the wash/dry/stylist was not very favorable. Not only was she rough washing my hair, she got soap and water in both my ears, she curled my hair with a straightening iron (I looked ridiculous) which hurt my scalp (even though I told her I wanted to keep my hair straight when she asked how I wanted it styled) and burned the tip of my ear. Great service! Would recommend. The staff was lovely and accommodating. However, my hair color doesn't seem to have changed all that much. I wanted more copper at came home yet again with more auburn than copper. ‍

I am satisfied with the actual color and grey coverage. However, I am not satisfied with the service because I ended with color on my forehead, inside my ear, and scalp. It my first time at Madison Reed which has an image of an high end hair color bar with genuine products. I am dissatisfied because after going to a professional and paying a bit over $100 after their pro+ membership, I still ended up with color on my skin.

I really wanted to be able to go here to get my roots done regularly but the last two times I asked the hair colorist, before we got started, to please wipe away the dark dye from the skin all around my hairline, very soon after dying because it stains my skin for 24-48 hours and she seemingly understood and agreed, but did so minimally. The very last time I went the hairdresser watched me use numerous wipes and cleanser, as I had to do it thouroughly myself at the station despite having asked. I asked for light brown and came out with very dark brown. Not happy with it at all. They told me to call within 2 weeks to fix it. Not sure if I should go back.

I am very confused about walk-in appointments. I walked into this location and was asked if I had an appointment. I said that I was there for a walk-in. I was told that there was nothing until the evening. I left and got lunch and felt strange about how quickly I was turned away. My gut told me to check the website and the first available appointment was less than 30 minutes late. In fact, there were several other afternoon appointments. The service here is not the same as it when it opened. I go for my appointment early. Someone comes out and yells from the back I'll be with you soon. Ok .. im 15 min early. It was cold outside... An offer of a hot drink like they normally offer would have been nice... usually they ask at the start of your a appointment.
