i have been to the Color Bar 4 times to have my roots done. The colorists are always pleasant and attentive. Two out of the four times, the color has been left to sit on my hair for over an hour (I was told it was going to be left on 35-45 minutes). Both times it is difficult to put total blame on the colorist. One time the colorist was on the phone with someone and was unable to end the call. Loved my experience with single process and glaze/gloss at the Shrewsbury location. Stylist picked the perfect shade for me. Product is high quality and lasts longer than most other brands. Signed up for the monthly membership which makes a lot of sense for anyone in need of regular coverage of their grays. Will definitely be back.

I love the products and it used to be so professional and easy to get my roots done. I have a membership so it's simple. However do not go to this location. Twice within a week they cancelled my appointment and I'm going away now with grey hair!!! I will cancel my membership and post about this horrible service It's a mismanaged location and should be closed

I have been an unlimited member with Madison Reed since April 2025 (15 months). I have had my hair colored 30 times during this time because the color fades and washes out too quickly. I don't complain about this, it is unlimited. I can come as many times a month as I choose. They are never on time. For a 35-minute service, I allow 2 hours. I blow my own hair. I have made two appointments and both times have been cancelled. the second time less than an hour before my appointment and unable to even talk to anyone. sorry would not recommend. Yet, if I cancel my appoinment last minute, I would be charged a fee.

Madison Reed Shrewsbury completely destroyed my hair. No consultation, was told it was semi permanent but it's permanent, completely the wrong color on the roots (which are not roots - it's about 4 inches of bad dye) - and dye seeped into blonde highlights that are now pink/ purple. No customer service, no refund and in fact they have now charged my card twice for one shocking experience. These are not trained colorists, they just follow a formula. So I posted back in October about the shortage of staff at the Shrewsbury location and the problem STILL exists. There is no management that I feel should be stepping in order to rectify this issue and it's extremely disappointing the lack of a response from customer service. Just a lot of we'll get back to you. I think going to any of the local beauty schools in the area and recruiting and training individuals would resolve this issue.
