There are a few staff that try to go above and beyond for their patients, the social worker Denise response to everything is that it’s not her responsibility. Hire staff that are honest and have integrity
the food is terrible, the staff are overworked and underpayed
My father has been at the Martine Center for all of two weeks and it has been a pure hellish nightmare. First of all it looks good until we arrived on the fourth floor , urine seeped from the walls althroughout the hallways. My Dad was there less than 25 hrs and he fell and fractured his hip. No one took him to the hospital he had to call 911 on own after 2 days was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he received a pin in his hip. The head nurse wasnt even aware that he was gone... Imagine I went to an lpn orientation, at Martine Center, and told the dns that I'm not avaliable on Mondays, and she was so angry, and just plain rude would not even sit to speak with me from one nurse to another, she ran screaming to call the agency I even told her that I'm will to do the weekends. I made a trip for no reason, wasted my time, gas, toll. She didn't even have the decency to come tell me to my face that my services will not be needed. Just tacky. Our mother has been living at the Martine Center , formerly Center Light, for two years. My siblings and I have watched the steady decline of this nursing home since it switched hands. The staff cut backs have put this already under staffed facility, into a tail spin. The fault lies with owners and administrators, not with nurses and aides. Maintaining a dementia floor while dressing, feeding, changing, bathing etc...all of these people seems impossible when so under staffed.
