I stayed there until I was through my recovery and it was a great place to be
I feel blessed that I was able to go to treatment. The staff is compassionate and extremely knowledgeable in eating disorders and other mental health issues that I have. My time at McCallum was very productive. I was able to grow more as a person and learn a lot about myself. I am excited to start a new chapter in my life and continue to grow as a whole person. I am so grateful for everyone at McCallum place supporting me and helping me get my life back on track to be healthy happy and whole.
I was admitted in December 2004 when the program was still pretty small. I was in residential and we drove to day suite everyday for groups and the day treatment people would come. I was a strong willed teenager who didn't want to stop my anorexia, but the staff tried so hard to get through to me and insurance ran out as I was starting to make little steps. My daughter received treatment for anorexia 3 times from McCallum Place. Her treatment teams were beyond knowledgeable, extremely caring, and always had her best interest in mind. As a parent of a 15/16 year old who had to move away from home due to her illness, McCallum helped make the transition easier.
