i was here about a week ago w the group of girls ages 12-17. the staff members are really sweet made some great friends there as well. their rooms where pretty clean. had my own room later shared a room with a friend i made they were okay with that. ones more girls started coming in everyone had to share a room. the food there is really good and clean (as a non picky eater) they give out great snacks as well. one thing i would say it does get super cold other than that u mostly are bare foot your parents can bring u slides b... read more

"I came to Montrose Behavior Center carrying the weight of unresolved grief, and honestly, I was very close-minded at first. But walking out of this place, I can say I've never felt better in my entire life. A huge shout-out to Ken--he is an incredible man who truly changed my perspective. He introduced me to meditation, and it has become such a powerful tool in my healing journey. This place is shit don't send your kids here!! I lied on the survey saying I'd recommend it but NOPE no activities pure boredom, everyone seems unqualified and it helps zilch. Don't let the pictures fool you either

I was mentally physically and sexually abused at this facility several years ago. The precipitating event that landed me here was one of the most dramatic of my life with the stay itself further traumatizing me. I was sitting here just because I was trans because the hospital which was called Lakeshore at the time had advertised a program called Vallejo which specialized in treating LGBT people but that program simply didn't exist when I got there. I went to Montrose in 2023, it was the worst experience ever. Before I got there I was in an Emergency room receiving a mental health evaluation. The mental health evaluation was completed and they sent me to Montrose while on a very high dose of lorazepam and was not working. I eventually came down and I was telling the staff this was all a mistake and that this all could have been avoided if I didn't take the lorazepam, from somebodies point of view who SHOULDNT of been there, the staff was insanely cruel...
