My recent experience with Balaclava has been nothing but horrible! I took my 5month puppy in after he was bitten by another dog, I understand it was a weekend and they have their own appointments. I called them before taking him in they said they'll fit him in that day. I called multiple time's that day as I don't live in Cairns and had to travel. I decided to go and pick him up at 3pm, the vet talked me out of taking him and that he'll be better staying there the night while he is in an uncomfortable position. They called m... read more
Dr Aki is an amazing vet but I DO NOT RECOMMEND ever using their groomer. If you have a fluffy full Pomeranian you would understand. My 6 and a half month pom was.. still growing his adult coat and I took him their for a trim.. a trim and tidy up! She took my whole puppies coat away and has chopped into it unevenly. Apparently this is what she calls a trim. I am absolutely mortified she would cut a Pomeranian this way especially at a young age! Research should be done on all breeds as a groomer. The vet Max is dismissive and doesn't listen. Give him a miss if you want to be able to have a discussion with your vet about your pet's history and ongoing care.

We have so much appreciation and gratitude for vet Dr Jason Pollard and vet nurse Courtney, for their respectful, caring and professional handling of our 12 year old dog in his end of life two days ago when his condition deteriorated suddenly. When our hearts heal and we can have another dog again one day we will be going no where else other than Balaclava vets. Thank you so much for your care of our Zephy.
