I made an appt here for a second opinion for my rotator cuff tear I’ve had since an accident September. I’ve seen Dr. Nickson for my knee before years ago and he was wonderful. Got an authorized referral from my PCP sent over. Appt made. After going through my case history with the really nice technician, the insurance rep came in and told me I couldn’t be seen because I got in an accident. As a Medical Biller, you should know that insurance companies will do take backs when injuries are the result of a motor vehicle accident and you do not have a letter of protection. Referrals are irrelevant in this matter. We do not see MVAs due to this issue. This is very much our right as a private practice.
