The doctors actually listened when I expressed concerns about pain from a hematoma—and they actively treated it, which meant so much. RecommendedI had a 12 day stay at the rehab facility , Quaility care from the Doctors , Nurses , Physical Therapist and Cafeteria had great food !! Janet my case worker was exceptional and kept me up to date on my stay .She had my Rollator ordered and ready for me on my release date of February 3rd . Thanks to Drs.Jim and Tammy for an 8:00am morning visit to start the day off and all the exceptional people I met while I was there during a challenging time for me . Please find somewhere else for your family member to go if they MUST go to rehab. If they just need therapy, it seemed good, but if they need nursing care (fall risk, wounds to be properly dressed, help getting to the bathroom) go ELSEWHERE! Due to their negligence during an 11 day stay, my family member ended up back in the hospital with a major infection in surgical sites that could have been prevented had they done their job! Nice folks but actual time in therapy limited. They advertise 3 hours per day. If you are lucky you get 30-35 minutes ot and pt. The remaining time is the therapists trying to complete crazy charting requirements or simply waiting. Group therapy mostly a bust and counted against the "3" hours. Begged for more therapy but had zero scheduled over a weekend while being told I "needed a break". Nope. I needed what was advertised. My mother left this place needing MORE rehab than she went in for and will likely remain mostly in a wheelchair the rest of her life due to a fall in the middle of the night(which was her 2nd one while there!). A bed alarm was supposedly in place and her room was steps away from the nurses station, yet no one responded until she was “found on the floor”. My family member was in the stroke rehabilitation program at Encompass Health following a hemorrhagic (bleed) stroke. She suffered a second hemorrhagic stroke while at this facility. Instead of correctly identifying her condition, the medical staff at Encompass Health diagnosed her with simple dehydration. We only learned about the second stroke from an MRI scan done shortly after she was discharged to a nursing and rehab facility. I should note that dehydration seemed suspicious at the time.
