Very nice when you're interested in the units, but not extremely kind nor attentive once you are leased. Our neighbors had flooding and mold growth throughout their bedroom which went unresolved and avoided for months. Eventually their whole unit flooded and they had to withhold their rent to be able to go to court and move out. The insulation is poor - you have to pump heat in the winter to stay warm. When I first moved in I was excited. Nice apartment. Updated recently with new appliances and look. The current manager is kind and courteous. The maintenance staff and office staff were kind and welcoming. Since the covid lock downs it appears that many issues are compounding. Swimming pool has been shut down since Spring of 2021. Garbage piles up in the 3 or 4 garbage bins to overflowing. Staff cannot keep up as residents or possibly non residents are dropping off couches, tables, mattresses without oversight. I've lived here for almost 4 years and for the most part I've enjoyed it. I like my neighbors, the complex is tucked away but also close to things, and my apartment is cute. I have an "updated" apartment though, and it's not like the photos they show here online or that's in their model which sucks. I also don't know why they keep raising rent so much each year; the first year I lived here I completely understood the increase because they did SO much work. The only benefit to live here is the location. I have lived in Okemos Station since 2012 and the price raise on $184 a months (I wish my salary was up with the same speed). For these years the management has never offered to refresh a paint on walls or wash a carpet. All appliances are out of date. I put a work order 6/27/2018 to replace a pantry door. Please note that I did not actually live here, so I can't verify things like noise from trains or neighbors, efficiency of maintenance staff, parking, etc. The grounds did seem well-kept during my visit and it is located in a quiet, wooded area. However, my experience with the property manager was so unacceptable that she alone is the reason I decided not to rent at this property.
